This morning I heard a little meep noise on my balcony. And then I wondered why the plant's base had been gnawed up. And look who I found snoozing in the pot plant. He's tiny. Curled up, he's about the size of human fist. It's a baby possum.

He still there, still snoozing.
Since the big tree fell down outside my place (some of you may remember the photos) they've got nowhere to sleep at night.

Cute he may be .......... is that one of NZ's little speed bumps? Just make sure he doesn't get into the roof space, you will never hear the end of him.

I guess it's better all round if they stick with the pot plants. I think he's one of those little ringtails. I didn't send the photo to my brother in NZ. Given they are considered introduced pests over there, he doesn't like them. When I lived in Wellington, you'd hear heaps of them crawling in the wall spaces. They are so out of control there.

Sorry. My post seemed very negative, didn't it? Just me. We had them in my boarding school - not nice. Hope your little guy sticks to the plants. No, I don't think your brother would be saying how cute!

He's a cheeky guy ain't he! Didn't realise they would feed on your plant, thought they prefered bugs?

What I found on the Internet, they are quite big and interact with humans.
