Thanks, Sam. I cried buckets putting it together too. I didn't want to forget all the funny little things we shared over the years. I still think of things now, like him sitting on my shoulder yabbering away while I did the ironing; and the hole he made in the insect screen that a then baby Smudge could have squeezed through - the hole is still there, patched over with sticky tape!

Hezz, I'm so sorry not to have sent my condolences before. I just haven't been on for over a week so please don't think I haven't cared enough to say how very truly sorry I am for your loss. You are in my thoughts, Sarah xx

I know exactly how you feel. Must apologise I did not reply sooner to your post as you know I have had problems with my computer again. After I had left a message here I coulnd't come back to see if you had replied and wanted to be so much of a support! I still get a lump in my throat now thinking about my best friend and am sure you will for a time and I can only say how much I understand what you are going through x

Ah, Sammie, you're a good friend. Got Blue's plaque done during the week: and have a nice piece of granite left over from the kitchen bench from years ago - a good scrub and it is as good as new. Not sure the plaque will survive being outside though - I didn't think that part through.

What a lovely plaque! That is such a thoughtful idea and am sure it will be fine outside. Remember Hezz - its about his soul being with you (probably perched on your shoulder somewhere nibbling your ear) x

Thank you, Sam and Marianne, I may have to put this one to the "committee" being the boys; they were rather chuffed with it, so we will have to adjourn to find out where our priorities lie. There is room on the granite for future generations to be remembered. So an inside or outside decision will need to be made.

Ah, thank you BB. He really was a one-off - the mould was broken after he was made.

Ah, thank you BB. He really was a one-off - the mould was broken after he was made. But the effort and the feelings put in to it still count and that it more important

Oh yes, I really meant that Blue was a one-off, he was so special.
Now we just have to decide where to put it.

Just had to do something, Moogie. Had to leave a visible mark somewhere, not just in our hearts. Probably a bit OTT, but I needed to do it.

Have you decided what to do with the plaque yet?
