Also just a quick question dunno if anyone can help with the dosage of garlic powder on softfood? How often do you give this i.e. once a day, a week or month? Thanks in advance

Just a sprinkle on a medium bowl. I do it after every few days. Maybe 4 or 5 times a month.

I tried this with mine, Sam. If a budgie can spit, they spat it out!!! Lucky garlic powder isn't a costly item.

I have experienced the dreaded red mite this year,it has decimated my breeding program and im sure its been responsible for the amount of french moult i have had to endure this season,i have had one nest after another of chicks dropping their flight feathers! Does anyone else here agree red mite can lower a birds resistance to the virus that causes french moult ?

Lovely info thanx-so garlic is safe for budgies? I have a huge problem though-none of my birds want to eat soft food. how can i get them to eat it? and what soft food? The mixes you buy at the Avian store and mix with water? or is it cooked veg+sweet potatoe mashed? They won't eat anything but Swiss Chard, Lettuce and limited apple. I made them all kinds of mixes and chopped fruit+veg-no go! Corn on the Cob, spinach,Swiss chard, lettuces is a go-fruit is a no-no!Why? its so healthy?Any advice on this and the garlic?
