This is a really helpful list thank you so much bit how do I clean my home especially the lounge where the budgie will be? Can I not use Imr sheen laminate spray to clean the floor and must I avoid using furniture polish? If I can't clean around the budgie will I have to move my budgie out the room when I am cleaning and if so for how long? Are there any floor cleaners and furniture polishes that are safe? Thanks

Can't help there. I use cedar oil on a cloth for polishing my timber furniture, have never used sprays ...... probably because it worked for my mother, and I am my mother's daughter! I go for the simple solution if at all possible. To wash my floors (again, timber) I use hot/warm soapy water and a mop! I really am my mother's daughter!

I use cedar oil on a rag for timber furniture, mild detergent and a few drops of vinegar on my timber and tile floors, and I use one of those supposed eco-safe, no chlorine or ammonia supermarket sprays for wiping benches.
Watch out for those carpet cleaning products. They can be highly and rapidly toxic. Some even say, do not use around birds.

cedar oil would be great but I don't think it is ok for laminate floors, what could I use instead and would Ecover products be ok? I really don't know how to clean the lounge now and to protect the budgie from breathing things in. Argghhhhh!

You say superglue, but what type are you referring to? There is 2-octyl cyanoacrylate which is used in the medical industry, which includes vets, whereas the other types, methyl 2-cyanoacrylate and ethyl-2-cyanoacrylate are general use and known as the generic Super Glue, or CA. I use a lot of generic CA for building my large scale RC planes but it stings my nose and eyes when I use a lot of it, but should people also be afraid of the stuff that vets use?
