What is that on the wall behind them?
Looks like a stone?

It's the moon. I use it as a night light for them, you can set it to go through the phases or just leave it on a full moon.

That sounds interesting I have always wanted one of those lights for SAD that wakes you up naturally with light. It's the moon. I use it as a night light for them, you can set it to go through the phases or just leave it on a full moon.

The moon! Did you buy that specially for the budgies, or did you have it before?

I had it before. We can't see too many stars in Tokyo because of the city lights so our living room has those stars you stick to the ceiling and a moon to go with them

It's incredible in the flat outback of Australia when you can see the horizon through 360˚. Completely flat, but for the curve of the earth. It's amazing to see a storm come in, a sunset, or watch the stars at night.

Sounds flash! I have my sturdy orange rio. I can browse the net, write texta, make calls and take photos and that is enough for me. I'm testing out my new iPhone to write this message my wife and I have been looking at budgie videos all night on her iPhone Preety cool

I have no idea what a "Rio" is but it sounds like an i-phone. Yeah I got the 4S, first smart phone for us. The wife wanted to be able to skype during her lunch break to see PJ and PoPo so we decided to get it. The strange thing is that here they are more or less free along with your cell plan if you get the basic ones but we got the 64g model so we have to pay something like $200 a piece for them and about $500 is waved so we got 2. Tons of stuff that I will actually find useful but for now I found out I can take pictures of the guys and upload them instantly to the image site I use for my budgie pics. They've just been put in the cage for the night. During the day if I put them in they search for a way out but at night they settle down very quickly.

Wow quite a deal It's not yet launched here but being sold in the black market at US$ 1300. It has come down from 2000. In the picture, it looks like the poor guy is looking at you to open the cage.

Hows it going with the nipping Rob? I've been doing the 'Ahh' (just one seems enough) and it certainly stops him ... but I'm not sure he's getting the message still I'm letting the grooming go cause I can handle that except the ear lobe, some times he just go a little crazy on my finger and starts nipping me all over ... hopefully he can learn the difference between good beaking and bad

Hows it going with the nipping Rob? Oddly enough it's much better. The "Ah ah ah" sound wasn't doing anything for me so I tried the finger trick where you make them climb up on your finger and repeat with the other hand a few times. Could have been just timing and it might start again but for now it's only 2~3 pecks a day which I can handle. A friend came over who has owned budgies years ago and PJ really did a number on his arm, about 20 bright red bites on his arms that looked super painful, enough to leave marks so I'm glad all I got was weak bites

Funny. When someone comes to stay, most recently my mother, then my sister-in-law, they get little nips on their hands, but he doesn't do it to me anymore.
