They are probably only dosage amounts for cats and dogs. Not little birds. Not feathers, Rob. You've misunderstood Hezz's post. It needs to given orally.

Yes! NO! Not onto her feathers. Just that with a larger volume I found a large amount was going all which way, not down (his) throat. You have to adhere to what YOUR vet has recommended. But I am interested to know just what it is he is treating.

i have no idea what he's treating....honestly....he just said im not sure whats up but can see she's ill, and i quote "the AB's i'll give you will clear up nearly any problem with the budgie" i'am looking into getting a second opinion if there's no change by next weekend (the latest)

Rob, I am worried your vet has given you the dosage for a dog. Seriously, my avian vet prescribed 0.1ml/100ml of water, given in a bowl.

i just found some info, apparantly the baytril 10% needs to be in 100ml of water as it's quite caustic to tissue..so by the looks of it 0.1ml per 10ml is going to be ok. just once per day

I mix 1 ml of baytril into 1 litre of water and dose a sick bird suspected of having a bacterial infection 0.5 ml twice a day

i was afraid you'd say that...no unfortunately no zoo's nearby, i was quite disheartened yesterday when my vet said your budgie is a male......and then googled it in-front of me.....and found out he was wrong..... Theres Larnce who is an exotic vet who does the vet work for zoos in wales (he's been on annas wlsh zoo and vets 24/7) He is the only vet i trust with my birds. He works in the morning is a few pratices in south wales seeing exotic pets including birds. There is also a new lady exotic vet cant pronounce her name or spell it) she some times covers for lance and is also very good and i would trust her with my birds as well. Heres the info for him. Carmarthen - Carmarthen vetanary Centre on Monday morning - 01267 220404 Swansea and Neath - St James i think - on Wensday and Thursday mornings (one day swansea and the other day neath) - 01639 638638 Haverfordwest - cant rember than pratice name- on tuesday and friday mornings - 01437 762806
