Looking forward to Tinkerbell's pics, once you get the time to take and post some.

thank you for your replies. yesi can see that as she gets more comfortable she might try to assert herself. at the moment she'll hop onto my finger no problem, walk up my arm, then tries to clamber up my hair to get to the top of my head she is a little sweetie.

I think Tinkerbell is an adorable name, it will no doubt get shortened to Tinks which is also very cute! I can't wait to see her on here!

I second that Sarah. Can't wait to see her. She sounds delightful and so quiet already.

thank you all so much for your kind comments. she is lovely and a proper little character too. what doesn't show on the pictures is her colouring. she is prodominently green but there is a sort of soft sheen of blue running up from her um.... under-carriage up onto her belly. she's very pretty. we love her very much.

I can see her blue coming through Loobie, cant wait to see her a bit later on because she will change, she will loose some of those gorgeous baby bars on her head and her colours will come through more defined. She is a little cracker and suit's her name with her fine fairy colours. my little grandaughter wants a baby budgie of her own and Tinkerbell was one of her chosen names

just a little Tinks update. she is coming on a real treat. she is starting to take more notice of her toys and her little play-gym. sometimes she's just happy to stay on my shoulder and twiddle my hair, another time she'll go exploring. i even caught her having a nibble on her greens, so i guess that she must be feeling more at home. she is such a little sweetie, i'm always talking to her and she gets excited when i approach her cage. she seems to like it when i gently kind of rub her neck, is it ok for me to do that? she fluffs her feathers up and seems to really enjoy it. i do it very carefully but i would hate to be damaging her feathers. we're getting on really well, i think the world of her

'Course you can give her a scratch! Lucky you if she is letting you already. Some birds never want their cheek feathers to be ruffled, so go for it! She may also a little later allow you to give the top of her head a scratch too - especially once she starts moulting and pin feathers come through - itchy business.

oooh, so it's really good that she's letting me do that so early on. she seems to love it, closes her little eyes. i was worried in case i was disturbing her feathers. i bought her some new toys and i thought that she may be a little wary of them but no, she was sussing them out straight away. she is funny to watch, i think the world of her.
