Hi, I lost one of my 2 budgies a couple of weeks ago, Timmy was looking a bit lonely so i decided to get him a new friend. . . . . . . . . . CHESNEY! He's a Cock, 4 weeks, 5 days old when i picked him up yesterday. I ordered from the breeder about a week ago and he called to say he was ready, i thought that was a little young but he seems fine. Heres a few pics: I've been at work all day so only had about half hour to spend with him but managed to get him eating out of my hand, he's still a little jumpy but hopefully he'll come round soon enough. Thanks for looking!!!! Thanks for looking!!!!!!

Oh ye, the plastic perches are going, picked wood ones up today but seemed a little jumpy so didn't wanna scare him too much, they'll go in over the weekend!

Chesney is beautiful, im sure Timmy will be chuffed to bits with his new friend. It does seem a bit young but he looks fine, as long as he is eating and drinking ok

He is adorable, it sounds young to me but if he's eating and drinking then I suppose all is well! I bet Timmy will be over the moon to have a new friend

thanks for all the comments, he's doing well, he's eating out of my hand well and out of his pots, he's had his first taste of miller ( only out of my hand, he's gotta cone to me for the good stuff lol) .
are the sand sheets really an issue, is there an alternative to newspaper, just looks a bit of a mess, sorry I'm sure theres a million posts about this.

The sand sheets or the sand perches can give them bumblefoot. It's really nasty. Like bedsores, if you've ever seen those.
For me, the newspaper works well. Either broadsheet for a bigger cage or tabloid for smaller ones. I lay out 7, and just remove one each day. Makes it super easy to keep the cage clean.
You could buy cheap packs of A4 or A3 paper at an office supply store I guess and use those as clean white sheets. Or clean newsprint paper like the stuff schools have for kids to draw on.
