Well Evie should have laid another egg on saturday and still nothing so I'm taking it as a sign that she is all done.;D Yay! Now to wait for the eggs to hatch! I don't like to mess with the eggs too much, even though she is very tolerant of me handling them, because she isn't at all tame and has only ever been handled by me twice. I think the breeder I got her from handled them quite a bit though so its helping.
She pops out of the nestbox when I knock then is straight back in there when I pop the little slidey thing back down lol ;D

When my Kiwi was incubating her eggs, I would tell her I needed to see the eggs and she would pop out too. They associate actions and words together-a lot smarter than people give them credit for. Your two pairs are doing very well. Congrats on 7 eggies and 6 eggies with your other pair.

thanks Mick, Marianne, and BB I am worried incase she isn't feeding the little guy :/ His crop doesn't seem to be a creamy colour but I don't know if that is usual for the first day or not? I can see me getting grey hairs from worrying over this little one lol ;D

There are two babies in the nestbox this morning but one of them is dead I don't know if its the first or second baby but its just lying there on its back and it looks bigger than the other one I am panicking now incase she isn't feeding them or she squashed it or....I don't know! I know I need to take it out of the nestbox but I am reluctant to touch it. Plus I've been told to check if the other one is being fed, its lying on its front so I can't see its crop, so that means handling that one too. Arghhh!

Just been into the aviary to give the baby some milk as advised by Barrie, all determined to be brave and pick up the baby. So I pick it up to find...it has a full crop All nice and creamy coloured So Evie is feeding it Breeding budgies is a whole crazy rollercoaster of emotions, I don't know how soon I will be breeding any budgies again after these two pairs have raised their babies.
