We bought this swing thinking that the "herd" would make use of it by swinging and chewing the wood.....however we were wrong.... Does anyone have ideas as to how we can make this into a new toy that the "herd" might like.....

First, I'd try putting it up highest up in the aviary or cage. Sometimes that works to make them more interested.
If you had some stainless steel wire, I wonder if it could be threaded through the centre of the rope to make it stiffer. If the wire worked, you might even be able to make it into a boing by curving it into a spiral shape.

I have found that swings that are more stable are accepted better than loose twisty ones. Does that makes sense? So Stace's idea of making it more steady could work. If it is long enough, how about undo the knot/s at the end, thread the rope back through the branch that is the perch, and use it more as a rope perch (with added extras) and string it across a corner. If they already have ropes in the aviary, they should be fine with it, but when I introduced a sisal rope to my (then) three, Sparky took to it straight away, Smudge some 12months later and Blue used it for a while but preferred branches. Sisal is rougher than cotton though, so that may have been the problem too.
