Moogie, you look nothing like the cartoon character, now,I am very happy to say! Families can be horrible! I have not had any enduring nick-names. I got "fence-post" and Leilani in my early teens. Fence-post because I was skinny and had no curves , Leilani after a race horse, because I ran everywhere. At uni I got "Grosby" after the footwear dog - not sure how!!!! My dad used to call me Herky, as a kid, when he was being nice. Can't repeat on here what he called me when things were going wrong!

I remember Willow the Wisp! Had a feeling thats where your name came from And as for fence post, well suppose that's original Hezz?! Mine is Gromit Reason? I cycle to work and always change when I get there. Once I forgot to bring my work trousers with me. As a result, a Matron of the office gave me right grief despite already having gone to the MD to explain?! As such, the lower echelons nicknamed me Gromit as in "Wallace and Gromit - in the Wrong Trousers!" But as for a nickname when I was a kid, I thought my name was "stop it" for a long while.... ;D

My brother called me Sarah sausage and shortened it to sausage because I hated it so much! I don't like most of the names I've been called- nearly all hair colour related obviously but now my sister calls me Sez, and various lovely friends call me Sadge... I worked somewhere once where there was another Sarah so they called me Joanne not to mix us up which was completely insulting and I left after 3 weeks!! My poor parents tried so hard to give us names that couldn't be shortened as well, ha ha!!

Not nice when you are called names you don't particularly like. The workplace people can be bullies like that

You guessed right that I don't like the name Joanne though... I like it even less since I had it hollered at me constantly while I swept up hair and generally worked like a slave for the hairdressers that decided to call me it, lol! I was only 13 and they treated me very harshly for being just a saturday girl! They all thought I was their own personal assistant, I was cream crackered after my day there... I only lasted 3 weeks!!

I call my youngest boy Pandy. His name is Andrew. My eldest David is shortened to Dave but when he was a baby we called him Rave because if he was laid on his nappy mat he'd arch his back in a break dance type move and could travel across the floor miles in that way... So funny bless. Paul gets called Paulie or Pie. Quite a few weird ones for you there!!
