So, I love blogging and I love my budgies!!
I like to keep track of the little daily events that surround the birdies.
I'll be keeping this pretty up to date, hopefully. I eventually (when times are good to me, and I have the money to fund it) intend to breed my birds, so I will aim for that.
In the mean time, bonding, playing, feeding - I'll post all of this here!

I had a bit of a bad day yesterday. I was putting some millet sprays in the cage that houses Sheldon and Pig. While I was doing this, Sheldon decided to fly around wildly, and somehow got past my arm and out of the cage. I was so stunned that I pulled my hand out, and Pig flew out too (I've only had the birds a couple of weeks, and they're not tamed yet). Well, I panicked, but I got Sheldon back into the cage pretty fast. Pig wasn't so easy though, and she flew into my mirror before I managed to get her back in. When I picked her up she savaged my finger which I was rather sad about! I gave them some extra treats to try to keep them calm and happy, but I'm really sad to think that I might have spoiled my relationship with Pig. She's quiet today. I will stick at it, though. I love her, and I will bond with all the birds if it's the last thing I do.

Pig is much happier now, and she's not pouting with me any more, which is great! Her and her buddy Sheldon are getting on better than ever (much preening, feeding and general cuteness to be seen). I gave them a bigger swing on the weekend because they both like to sit on it and there were hilarious antics because it was built for one. XD Pig is a climber. She has these tiny splayed legs which are the cutest damn thing! They're currently sharing some millet together. Walt, Hank and Penny are getting along great, too! It think it has been almost two week since Walt came to live with us. He's getting along with the other two much better - they ignored him quite a lot at first. My blogs are relatively boring so far, but I like to take down the little things Pictures to come.

Nice blog and I love your budge names Don't take it personally when a female bites you, it's just their way. My Abbie savages my finger every morning, she's a bad tempered little spud!

Haha, thanks Marianne! I heard that females could bite badly, but my other lady is so soft compared to Pig. 0_0

I got the birds to start eating vegetables! Huzzah!!! Penny, who likes to screech all day, is the most daring bird. I put some corn in there, just to try and when I came back from work she was eating the last bit of it. I'm so pleased! I'm trying them out with parsley now too.

Penny sounds like a noisy one It's great that you are making progress with regards to vegetables. Just remember that vegetables or any soft-food should be removed from the cage within 3 to 4 hours.

Great work with the veges. With patience, even the most determined vege-haters will eventually succumb! Keep giving them a whole range of different types, so they keep getting a taste for variety.
Even when they grow to like veges and fruits, some days they just don't feel like it. Like us, I guess.

Thanks, BB! I assumed there was a big longer than that to remove veggies - I'll keep that it mind! Penny is sooo loud. I will have to record her! Great work with the veges. I have neglected this of late, but I'm back now! Computer and internet problems have plagued me for the last few months D: So, my taming is going well! Having ten birds, it's a lot slower than I would like but very rewarding. Nigella, my light green dominant pied is just lovely and eats seed out of my hand all day Well, as long as I can stand to keep my hand in the cage without my arm going dead. Hehe. We have several naughty birdies, but all have now recovered from the winter moult and are looking gorgeous. I swear I got a full hoover bag of feathers over the last two months with all of them moulting at once. 0_0 they looked like quite the motley crew.

And on veggies - they're pretty good now! They loooooove sweetcorn and Malcolm and Penny in particular love beetroot. Malcolm looked pretty scary for a few days with a red face. Hehe.
