It is with a very heavy heart that I report on the passing of my beautiful girl, Atilla the Hen.
Some of you may already know that she had a hernia which was the main cause of her various health problems. In January, the avian vet gave her about 6 months. My strong-willed girl gave us 8 months. Her boyfriend Cagney most probably kept her going through particularly rough times.
She died in my hands with Cagney & Bezukhov around her.
Goodbye my darling girl. I hope you are flying high & catching up with your little sister Raspy. xx
A terribly sad day for you Sweetpea. I am so very sorry to hear this. I always felt a certain connection with Atilla, as she and Bluey suffered from very similar symptoms. I am sure the boys are missing her like crazy, as you will be too. RIP Atilla. Keep those boys in line up there in budgie heaven.
We are not Vets, Avian or otherwise. If you have any serious doubts about your budgies' health an appointment with an Avian vet should always be your first point of call.
Rest in Peace, wonderful dear Atilla. You will always be in our hearts. It's nice to think of Atilla and Raspy being together again, keeping all the budgie angels on their toes. It is a very sad day, Sweetpea.
Yes, we are missing Atilla terribly this morning. Cagney has been shouting & I fear he will lose his voice before the day is out! I am not sure if he has stopped to eat but I will treat him to some fennel in a minute.
I would like to think that Raspy is happy to settle into second-in-command now her big sister is with her. Atilla will enjoy the challenge from Raspy as her sister was the only one who stood up to her. They really were a wonderful pair to know.
