Hey guys!! I've been thinking about breeding for a little while and I am dying to start. I bought 4 breeding cages this week from fellow forum member Nigel, so I'm almost ready to go! I need some nest boxes next and a hen and then I'm pretty much done My first pair are my lovely grey cock Hank and my white and blue pied, Penny. They're in love Penny is not a show style bird, but Hank is pretty huge so I think their babies will be gorgeous none the less. Penny isn't in breeding condition yet, but is getting there and they are smooching pretty much all day long so I think this is an 'in progress' one. My second pair are Malcolm, my normal cobalt violet cock and Stevie, my normal dark green hen. Both of them are coloured beautifully so I'm really looking forward to seeing their chicks I'm thinking about pairing Nigella my cinnamon pied hen and Angus, my grey spangle. Ideally I want some blue series cinnamons at some point. Also, I have my lovely light green cinnamon boy Karl. I'm still looking for a suitable lady for him though Pictures to follow!!

Four would be awesome, Nigel! I only have three pairs thus fair though, so three would be equally marvelous!

I think it will I've been well prepared by you guys. Sadly, I think I am now down to three usable females, one of whom is not in condition yet as I think my little Pig may have had FM as a baby (she has very short wings and tail). I'll come back here in a little bit to post existing pairs. So this means I'll need an additional two females instead of one like I was planning!

Well, there's been quite a shake-up in the flock since Sheldon passed away. Hank is ill now too (in hospital cage, with medication. He seems a little better). I will not be breeding him, because I think he needs time to recuperate. Pig and Walt have become very close, so I think they'll be a new pair Walt actually now seem to be king of the flight. Penny, Hank's previous partner is now flying solo. She's been hanging out with Walt too, but I think Pig and he get along better. So it's all changing!

Still haven't gotten any nest boxes so it might be a while before updates, but I'll post bonding pics and such.

Pairing pictures on their way soon! I have lost two of my beautiful males, but no one else appears to be ill (and it has been three months now), so I think all is well. I was given two beautiful girls a few months ago and they have now settled into the flock well after the quarantine period. I currently have 4 males and 6 females, so I'll need to even that out. Also, my flock is very yellow heavy (6 yellow based birds, four white) so I want to even that up too. I'd love to get some more blues in, perhaps also a double factor spangle (white). In the end, I want some lovely pieds, and I would love to have some grey/blue cinnamon spangles. That would be wonderful.
