I can see why Lilek gets called Dumpling, Marianne I need to get more veg into Munchy's diet. I'm always a bit nervous about keep fresh veg too long, as we don't actually have all that many vegetables ourselves. I'm thinking I should buy a variety from our local market (unless they're way more expensive than the supermarket) and store them in the fridge so I can give a variety each day. Then if I have any left and don't think it good to keep them any longer I'll make dinner from them for myself. That way me and Munchy will both have a healthier diet.

Monty is a little pipsqueak!
I should weigh Boo. I haven't for a while and was just thinking he's starting to feel heavy sat on my finger!

Ah yes, Lilek is a little Dumpling He's sitting on my knee singing at the moment. I agree about the veg, I could eat more too. When the weather is cold I just want stodgy food like mash..

Carrots are good as they keep for quite a while in the fridge veggie compartment.

Do you have any tips for weighing budgies? I can't imagine it will be possible with the sausages, as they're not really tame enough to stand on something they don't want to stand on!

Carrots are good indeed. We use those for Sunday roast and Munchy starts chasing me around as soon as he sees his share on his skewer XD The corn kept very well, and he loves that too.
I love how Monty is the smallest and the bossiest. I should ask my friend if I can borrow her electronic scales occasionally. We only have non-electronic ones with 25g intervals. I'm glad Monty is that small, makes me worry less about Munchy XD
Speaking of Munchy and his munching, I've just sprinkled seed on the floor to get him to forage as he was hungry. He doesn't get to forage much. I'd better clean up before my nan gets home though XD Luckily he doesn't really overeat, for a budgie. He spends a lot of time zipping around and playing and generally eats at the most every 3 hours. I don't know if I should ration his seed to a certain amount, though. I guess I'd better check his weight. He certainly doesn't look fat.

roseYes, If you have a small carrier that you can put the bird in and then on scales? I don't at the moment, but I guess I could find something somewhere? I'd need to get a decent pair of scales, too. I never use my kitchen ones and they're probably not at all accurate. Knowing the boyz, they would do what I do on the bathroom scales: i.e. move the marker a bit below zero and try and balance myself on the edge to get lowest possible result!

I have some black square, flat, salter ones that I got from Asda. £9. They do oz and 1g increments. me too!
