Hi james Are you looking for any particular budgie colour or type when you do go to your breeder? You said you are going to have two breeding pairs,was that right? Sue Hi Sue, Thats right .....two breeding pairs......Not sure of colour etc.suppose I will decide when I see whats available. James.

show type lutinos and albinos are nice james .. i used to breed them .. but they can be a bit hit and miss... if i was to start again id only have the pet type budgies as they live alot longer plus easyer to breed ..

I agree with both of you.i have found exhibition budgies harder to breed,they just seem more stubborn in what their requirements are.i have a pet type budgie with a exhibition budgie and they are great parents and over the few years bred very easily.i have bought two pet type ready for next year and they have already shown signs of mating,they seem more up for it (sorry i had to put it that way) than my big birds. Sue

Hello James and a very big welcome to this lovely forum and im so very sorry for your loss. Its wonderful that you have decided to start keeping Budgies and i am sure they will bring you endless pleasure as they do all of us, its very therapeutic, i can spend hours watching mine and seeing to their needs and cant imagine life without them. look forward to hearing about your new hobby but go and have that well deserved holiday and when you return we will all be glad to help, advise or just have a chat .
