Hi i've recently purchased some budgies for my new avairy and two of the new budgies appear to be breeding. she is spending quite a lot of time in the breeding box. i thought it would be too cold for them to breed at the moment (winter in the UK). Would they breed this time of year and if they do what are the chances of the eggs hatching and being successful?

Members from UK will be answering your question but I know that budgies breed in winter indoors. Not sure about outdoors though.

i have my temperature set at 10 c anything below that stands a chance of egg binding problems please.. listen to barrie .. he is the budgie oracle... as egg binding is a very very painful way to die . .. get some heat in the aviary 24/7... and a wall thermometer you can get electric oil heaters with thermostats on very cheep.. if not breeding the temp can be just above freezing so the water dont freeze .. as they cant drink ice .. but if breeding 10 c ...min.... i hope this helps ....
