I'm sorry to hear about little Misty Bloom- it is good that she looked better and died quickly rather than deteriorating and feeling very poorly in her last hours on earth. Don't leave the forum.... you will keep on learning and if you ever want another budgie you can use all your knowledge to make the right choices. Don't focus on the negatives- that another bird will get sick- it can't be predicted and life must be lived, not always holding back for the what-ifs. Big hugs to you at this very sad time xx

Oh, Katie, I am so terribly sorry for your loss. I am so sorry poor Misty lost her fight. Hopefully she did die of a heart attack, at least that way she wouldn't have suffered. *Hugs* As Sarah says, it is good that she was looking and seeming better, although harder for you to understand. Take comfort in knowing you were doing everything you possibly could to make her time with you as happy and as comfortable as possible. Please stay on as part of the forum, if you can bear to, and one day when the time is right, hopefully another bird, as precious as Misty, will come into your life.

Aww am so so sorry for your loss but please dont leave us if you like being around on here as Mick said, he had to give up his birdies but we still love having him around! I know how you are feeling right now tho ksmiller, I felt the same when I lost my hen bird Mont very suddenly this February . It is truly devestating, especially when they play such a big part in your life. But give it time and you might feel different. We did, and I am glad we did as not that it will be replacing your beloved Misty, but am sure you will love a new little friend again just as much but in a different way. We decided in the end to get more than 1 as a result and it has been worth it. My thoughts and feelings are with you, fly high little Misty you were loved and will always be remembered xxx

The only thing that could've made me hurt worse was if she had deteriorated before dying. Anxiety always seems to hold me back, but I think eventually I'll adopt another budgie. Thanks again. *hugs*

I'm sorry for not responding sooner. I completely missed the second page. I'm almost certain that she died quickly now. My sister said that Misty was chewing on her cuttlebone before she went to school, and we found Misty not long after that. :c Even though I tried to help Misty, I still feel like I failed her. I didn't want her to suffer, but she was still enjoying life and it seems so sad that she died when she did. The other thing that bothers me is that I don't know how old she was. Sometimes I wonder if she died way too early. Thanks again and thank you for helping me help Misty when she was sick. I appreciate it.

Most likely I will end up getting another budgie, but it probably won't be too soon. I remember the moment I brought Misty home being very bitter-sweet because I was still sad about losing my first bird, Valentine. I was afraid that if I got another budgie, Valentine wouldn't seem so special anymore. But now I realise that all budgies are special, and I'm not necessarily replacing my birds by adopting a new one. Thanks again. I'm sure Misty and Mont are both flying high together.

I felt exactly the same after my first young budgie perry died so tragically aged 14 weeks, I got Pickle from the same breeder 2 weeks later, Pickle is a totally different bird and I have totally fell in love with him but I will never forget that special bond I had with Perry. So sad for your loss. Fly high little one! x

Thanks. I'm so sorry about Perry. Did he have an accident? I hope you and Pickle have many more happy years together and I know Perry will always stay close to your heart.

Thanks Ryan. My mom and I were talking about Misty just now. It's still so lonely without her.
