That's wonderful, bubs. The thing to remember with budgies is patience and persistence - if she seems really happy with something new, do that for a while and then move on to something else. You may find that she will have times of regression. This is fairly normal and in these cases go back to where she is doing things without thinking of them, as they have become so familiar, such as the step-up. It is also a good plan to run her through her whole routine most days, and then when she has these down pat move on to something else or the last thing you were working on.

Great to hear you've taken a step forward! It takes an absolute age sometimes, especially with more than 1 budgie! (Obviously you haven't got that problem I'm assuming) ^ On the wing clipping, as someone has already said.. americans do tend to declaw and clip a lot of things from their pets. Don't always go with what you read on the internet, if ever in doubt, get some advice from your local vets or something. Never did understand how disabling a bird from flying would make it trust you more!

Ok Toni is doing sooo good! I have started to take her out of the cage now, last night she sat on my finger for about 10 sec and just looked at the cage before jumping back on it. When she's on the top of the cage I give her a treat and talk to her for a while. She seems very relaxed, playing with the handle on the cage and nibbling my fingers. The problem is when I'm going to try to put her back in again. If she's on my hand and I slowly lift it she jumps straight off (only outside the cage). And then she won't go back on to my hand for a very long while. In the end she climbs down the side of the cage and back in herself. To try to trick her that It's me that puts her back in I put my hand in the door opening so she has to land on it before she goes back in. See I don't know if she's too smart but I thought I'll try it.
Any tip on how to make her let me put her back in again?

Don't give up - that's the only advice. It can be very frustrating when they won't go back inside when you want them to. I am at that place at the moment too, but my older male used to be so good about going home and is now leading the two new ones astray. Just keep at it and one day Toni will allow you to put her in.

Thanks Hezz! After I posted this last night I tried again. She flew up on an indoor-airer a little bit away from the cage, she jumped up on my finger and let me move her slowly. But when we came close to the cage she jumped back on the cage roof. My boyfriend then thought he wanted to give it a try and after a few seconds she jumped up on his finger and let him put her in. Now I would like to think this had nothing to do with the fact that it was my boyfriend and not me, that she's just learning. But she's doing so well and I'm so proud
