I have a wooden ladder that I was using in Munchy's cage by tying the end that doesn't have hooks to the bars, but I removed it and then redid the whole cage because he regurgitated on it when I removed the ball that was tied onto one of the other things in there, which was what happened when I attempted to make a ladder.
I was wondering what to do with it. He wouldn't climb it if I put it in the cage as the bars are horizontal. I considered tying beads to it but without bells he doesn't bother with that sort of thing. Without the ball on it, he never goes on the thing that I made, even though there are beads and buttons which rattle if he holds them and lets go. He did used to play with them as a chick, but that was before he got a love of balls and bells Bells are expensive to buy, though...
And if I tied things to it then I've still got to find somewhere to hand the ladder from. Unlike a lot of budgies, Munchy doesn't like things that sway. He only goes on his swing to sleep and anything that wobbles when he lands on it he won't go near, so it has to be touching the ground or tied across the cage. Not much room for it in the cage at the moment, though, unless I remove the swing, which he hasn't slept on the last couple of nights anyway. I might as well just use the two swings to hang stuff from.
Which reminds me, I still need to do those other things I was going to do. One thing I'm having to saw wood for, which takes a surprising amount of time... For me anyway.
I often wonder what Munchy does in his cage. I've seen him play with two toys that I bought, but when we're in the house he usually wants to come out, so I don't see if he plays with anything else.
And I need to buy more leather string and some beads...
