Since my aviary population has exploded this year (now up to 25) I've started to put a bowl of fresh veg in each morning. I've been giving them combinations of sweetcorn, celery, grated carrot, apple, spinach, kale, dandelion leaves & maybe a few others, plus a handful of groats. My birds are now waiting for their daily veg each day and I am practically mobbed when I fill up the dish. There is usually nothing left within a couple of hours. Their favourites are celery and sweetcorn.

Can budgies have the tops off the normal big peppers? I've just made a stir fry and I have it left over. It has the little seeds attached so guessing they are a no-no. The first post says bell peppers, are these the same as normal salad peppers, the red, green, orange yellow ones?

I don't see why not but I have never tried them. My guys are not too keen on peppers or capsicum depending on where you live. And I have never pushed the issue, either.

Should I take off the little seeds? Just give them the stem and the top?

Should I take off the little seeds? Just give them the stem and the top? They can eat the seeds as well, if they want to, or just chuck them around too. Same with chilli.

Beetroot leaves? I've searched but can't find a specific mention of these in this thread so..... I try to offer my lot things that I can pick in the veg patch or wander-off-with from our salad tray in the fridge. Presently the chickweed is past its best and my wife is wondering why the salad leaves vanish so speedily. I do have a few rows of beetroot growing so wondered if it would be ok to offer the leaves to the birds as beetroot is in plentiful supply at the moment. Any advice would be appreciated please.
At the moment also giving: cucumber chunks, apples and carrots slices - as they are freely available / home grown.

I think yes to beetroot leaves - I looked that up a while back. Mine love the veg itself. See what others think tho.

Yes, all parts of the beet are fine.
