Definitely! Not too much of the eggfood though, budgies can get fat. It is very good for when they are moulting though, as you probably already know.

I always have eggfood available for my two boys, they only seem to eat more of it when they are moulting.

I had no idea I could make my own egg food I used to buy it and I think I had to add water to it, mind you I am talking about 20 years ago

Some budgies prefer the commercial eggfood crumble stuff while others prefer their egg freshly cooked and served up with extras. Just make sure you cook the egg for a good 10 minutes to be sure of killing off any grebils that may be lurking.

Sky would not go near any fruit or veg so I tried the approach of having her on my shoulder whilst I eat something too, she saw me eating it and wanted some - strawberry, grape & a tiny bit of satsuma (not all on the same day). Anyway, my question is, she eats such a TINY amount, is this just because she's testing it out? Of course i don't expect her to eat a whole strawberry lol she seems to enjoy picking at it and throwing it about (LOL) she's really into nibbling EVERYTHING. Just wondering if she's going to get any nutrients from fruit/veg at this rate ?!!

Yay I grated some carrot to go with Sky's egg food and she's eaten lots of it!

You must remember that the size of her head is all the food she needs, and yes, those tiny nibbles will help with those micro-nutrients. At least she is having tiny nibbles, and now she has eaten some carrot - well done, little Sky.

I love the *proud mum* feeling too! Very well done Sky I have started putting home grown pots of millet and seed grass in for Douglas and he loves them, having little nibbles throughout the day. He also gets his fresh stuff and egg but he loves his grasses, he tries to get into the pots (unless it's the blue one which he chucks on the floor for some odd reason) and it makes me laugh
