I bought the piano 6 and my birds love it, its a great cage and plenty of room and they love the bendy perches that came with it.

I have my two budgies in this cage. It is really good in many ways. They took quite a while (about 10 days) to get confident moving around in it but they are quite timid generally. Now that they are comfortable there, they use really well. It is great for space and the modular perches which come with it are excellent. I find the size of the doors quite small for getting your arms in and doing stuff. Also the overall size means that it is really difficult to fix things on the back as my arms are only just long enough to hold something inside and then reach round with the other to fix. But overall I really like and it was a very good price from Zooplus. I am sure 4 budgies would be great in it and every so often I allow myself to imagine my two boys with some new friends in there... Hi total Noob here! i'm soon to become a new budgie owner and this looks really nice. Ive ordered one of these cages but wanted to know the reason you have the back and sides covered and lighting on the front? It looks amazing like this. Sorry if this is a silly question.

Hi holyfishcakes - welcome to the forum.
Not a silly question at all - and glad you like the look of the set-up.
The reason for covering the sides is really because the weather has been so cold over the past few months and this was a way of holding of the warmth from the light in and also the buds seem to like the feeling of enclosure.
Over the last couple of months I have been folding the cover further back, especially when there is sunlight coming into the room, and although they normally move around a lot when they are having a quiet time my budgies seem to prefer to sit in the bit which is still covered. I am wondering if this just feels more secure from predators for evolutionary reasons.
Also it is such a big cage and the position it is in in my room means that the 'tucking in' process at night is much easier with the cover already where it is. And before I had it set up like this I could see that a lot of droppings etc were sticking to the wall behind the cage (so I have more of the same shade of paint on standby when I need to smarten it up).
Hope this is helpful - feel free to ask more questions as there are many knowledgeable people here who are very generous with their expertise (I am pretty new to buds myself) .
We will all be keen to hear more from you and meet your budgie(s) when they arrive.

Hello again. I've now got the cage... And two new budgies called Zabba and Yaya (yeah I'm a city fan but don't let that put you off) I downloaded the Proboards iPhone app just so I could upload pictures from my phone (as advertised) but I can't so will try to get some pics sorted when I'm on a PC.
The boys are settling in and are really friendly. They've been stepping up without bribing them with food! Even my wife is has fallen for them and she's not really a pet person :-)
Back on topic. So far my impression of the piano 6 is that it is very roomy, it comes with some cool bendy perch things which the guys really seem to like and in my opinion it is a very good looking cage. Not sure about the cleaning out side yet but it looks straight forward as there are two sliding drawers at the bottom. I thinks it's a great cage!
