Well done you and the vet. I'm surprised you could keep your cool. Glad you could, and all has worked out.

Helpful ideas for the first aid kit. I have most already but where is the best place to buy Guardian Angel in the UK?

I am not sure if this can be added to the list but I am pretty sure I had helped my starving budgie Huckleberry from dying, I thought he would not make it the next day but he did, poor baby! I didn't have Guardian Angel, I had Poly-Aid. I was looking up which one was better and from my understanding, Poly-aid is for starving birds who are ill and it can keep them going until they get seen by a vet. It works fine with antibiotics. Guardian Angel is also very good, and great for de-hydrated birds but can be a problem if the bird is already taking antibiotics. Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong. I just felt that Poly-Aid should be on there too. www.birdcareco.com/English/TheBirdCareCompany/ProductInformation/Poly-Aid
