So I have brought some wire cages to breed my budgies when I get them...if you look at the pic you can see the back wall of the bird room could I build a cabinet with a wire front to stop birds landing directly on the breeding cages…? I’ve not got the room in the bit of the bird room where I will stand and also have the bird seed and stuff… also do I need a extractor fan in the bird room? And if so would it need to be on 24/7

I'll leave the birdroom gurus to answer your questions, but good luck with it all.

I can't get the question. But I think you should do it like this.

Your best off not having the breeding cages in the flight as the other birds will distract them from breeding.

yeah BB your drawing is how it is set out>>> i have brought some cages 24 long hight 16 by 16 wide..but they are 2 inches to wide so where u have drawn the breeding cages the door to the bird shed is and when i add the nest box to the BC going to be in my way...think i should build my own now lol .....sorry i am not to good in putting things in to writing

I'm not an aviary builder, but is it still early on enough to move the door frame to the left a little, enough to get the cages with nest box in on the right? You could build a shelf below to store stuff maybe and sit the cages on the top.

Put the nest boxes on the front of the cages ..............use a fly screen ventilator instead of a fan extractor
