I am hoping to start breeding around April / may when my budgies have got a bit older . I have bought some egg food so when should I start feeding them it

Start feeding it now, couple times a week to start with.

I start it a month before breeding and until the chicks wean.

I use natural eggs and feed all year round. We have to remember, what were trying to achieve, with advice i give i'm breeding to exhibit, so with the amount of feather i'm putting on my birds i need a lot of protein . I have a pet bird called Doodle he is now 14 he has a very simple diet. Home bred / res This is him at 12.

Corie is right, both about pet budgies and exhibition budgies When I said a month before breeding, that is on daily basis. Otherwise, it's throughout the year once or twice weekly.
