I've just realised that Kevin's tail is actually bobbing. It's been doing it from the day I got him but I didn't realise that was actually bobbing, thought it would me more if ya know what I mean. It kinda beats like a heart beat. I'm thinking of taking him back to the shop because I really can't afford a vet. I feal really bad for doing this incase he is ill and the shop keeping tells me to swap him. I feel as though I hav bonded with him a little but I feel kinda scammed as the shop gave me an ill budgie!

No I don't think so, but he spends most of the day when I'm here just sitting there like trying to sleep or scratching, unless I'm playing with Mia. he gets annoyed then. I watched a video of tail bobbing on YouTube and Kevin seems to be doing the same thing. Mia doesn't.

He does it wherever he is sat. He's sat on a plastic perch with a sand cover at the mo. is it normal for Mia to sleep attacked to her seed bar? Hanging side ways? She's been there all night :/

He also seems to be scratching alot, blinking and yet hung his left eye alot. He looks real scruffy round his beak yesterday when I got back from work. He generally looks scruffy and has had a small feather sticking out his tail, all of this from day one of getting him a week ago. All of these things he does but Mia doesn't. That's how I noticed them. Mia seems quite content and happy but Kevin doesn't at all . I'm feeling quite depressed at the minute and feel so bad for Kevin

I can't do that on iPhone. To be honest I really don't have the time or money to be caring for a sick bird . I know that sounds really really bad but i didnt expect to bring home a sick bird and have all this hastle strait awsy. I feel so bad for kevin. maybe i shouldnt have birds . I've came to the conclusion I will have to take him back to the shop and see what they say I really don't know what else to do or where to start. Even if I do try to make him better it may not work he could still die and then the shop won't do anything about it and ill have one less bird

Oh dear - you are sounding very stressed. It is horrible to have an ill animal especially when you don't know it well. Could you take a pic and email it? Stace, do you know an email address for the forum? I know Marianne has dealt with emails recently. Are you there, Marianne?

I'm so sorry that Kevin is ill.
You should take out sand covers for perches, they are bad for birds feet.

Ahh right, plastic perch better then? I've spoken to the pet shop now anyways. They have advised me to take him back and swap him with another and they will treat him. They said they will defo treat him and not fob him off so I feel better about doing it now. Taking him back to shop I think will be the best place for him as they can treat him and look after him properly, alot better than I could. I still feel bad but at least he will get the treatment he needs

Natural branches are the best. Or wooden perches of varying thickness.
