mum is plucking them hard as you can see the bruising on the chicks....you could put small pieces of millet in the nest box for mum to nibble or remove mum and let dad feed them or apply some cream like sudocream x it alos looks like she could be plucking the new feather which could cause damage to the feather folicals

That looks really sore, i would remove the hen and let the cock get on with it. Remember once a plucker always a plucker, so if you need to breed with her again your best to foster the chicks.

You should have kept them in the same breeding cage. It's better to put the hen inside.
Do so if the cock doesn't go inside the nest box and feed them.

Should of asked before you made the move, oh well all done now, do you have any hand raising formula.

If your going to try hand-rearing them then yes you need to feed them formula. I use Versele Laga Nutribird A19 High Energy. Do you have any other pairs at the moment with chicks around the same age? If so try fostering them over to them one at a time and see if she accepts them. Do not move them all at once in case they are rejected and you need to put them back with the cock bird.

hi i thought i was advised to move them away from the female ? , I said remove the hen and let the cock get one with it, by doing what your done your upset the cycle. The hen doesn't feed at this stage of development, she has a rest and gets ready for her next brood, she couldn't care less about them right now they are just annoying to her.

Soak some pellets in water and feed them while you get the formula.
