That's silly expensive. Gotta be able to find cheaper than that somewhere. If it doesn't say stainless, it won't be.

I think just be patient, Lousette. Get on with your work and allow Hubby to do his bit when he gets to the States. Great for thinking the whole thing through so definitely. You would probably be okay using the screws in zinc as the birds would be coming across the wingnut and washers first, BUT ........ you are being super-careful. I can only applaud you for this. PS It's only a month away

Try sending these people an email. They're using those double threaded bolts on their perches, so they must be able to source them, even though they are not listed on the site. www.naturalbirdco.co.uk/ourshop/cat_533714-Fresh-Willow-Perches.htmlThey've got some fantastic perches on there, along with lots of other great stuff. Moogie has bought a lot of stuff from them. They send part of the money to bird charities, which is also a plus.

PS It's only a month away You are too right - I will just wait. That is a great site and I want to buy two more plastic happy perches from them as well. I have two already and they are great for dotting around the house on windows. Hob LOVES his happy perches. Again much cheaper in the States than over here. Hubby is going to get a big surprise when large parcel of birdy goodies arrive at his hotel
