Good news for Rocky. Glad all seems to be on the up and up. You'll just have to keep him contained for a while until he heals properly - he won't like that!

Rocky says thank you for the kind words! He's chirping away at the moment and much brighter, although still reluctant to fly ( he dies have room to fly a bit in his cage) I've only had him just over a week so was just about to start letting him out but he's confined to quarters for another week now.
He was so good at the vets though, i was very proud of him. sat on the vets finger like a seasoned pro!
Will keep you updated on progress x

I'm glad Rocky has been seen by a competent vet and doesn't seem to have done anything serious, what a relief for you!

Thanks Sarah. Yes it's a huge relief, haven't had him long but I'm already so attached and I was so worried it wouldn't be fixable. He's such a sweet little character. 5 days of Metacam dosing might put the bonding process back a bit though lol

He's such a sweet little character. 5 days of Metacam dosing might put the bonding process back a bit though lol They can sometimes sulk, and with him being so new to you, this is a real concern, but they are generally forgiving little creatures. Sometimes I am sure they know you are only doing so in their best interests and it can actually end up being a positive thing.

Hiya. Yeh, he's not quite as trusting as he was before but he will still get on my hand with a little coaxing and he's still happy to be hand fed millet!! The wing is looking better although he's still holding it a little down. He is flying in cage a little bit now and he wasn't doing that at all the first few days so all looking positive

That's great. It's a relief when they come good. Probably just a minor bump.

Brilliant that he is feeling better and able to use his wing a little more. Bribing with toys .... I like your style

Hi everyone Rocky would like to show you how much better he's feeling: Hmmm, what's this?? Ok I'll give it a go By the way if anyone thinks this toy isn't safe please let me know - it had a bell which I took off, rest is willow vine and paper, and bird safe plastic. Not sure if that bit of plastic needs cutting down? He loves it but if it's not safe it'll have to come out. So difficult to find toys that they're not going to hurt themselves on. But toys aside he really is looking much better now. Thanks for all the support everyone - it was a scary few days!! xx

I think the toy is fine, and a lovely piece of bribery. With that piece of plastic "string" you could possibly thread it back down inside the toy if it worries you ..... otherwise cut it off. I don't think it is a big deal, if it is the sort I am thinking it is, it's quite soft.
