Yeah ....... well ........ he would! Just a bloke, he doesn't know, humph!!!! Well, you did call this thread "time for a change" ......... Do the little poops rake to the surface, or go under? Yep he had better watch his step, don't know about changing him in though , don't think i could be bothered with another one of those . Anyway, im very impressed with the sand, most of the poops stay on the surface, some of the seed husks tend to go down but its still looking so clean, i think a complete change once every two weeks would be plenty. This is the sand after this mornings rake, its almost been a week since putting it in, the bits at the front are oyster shell grit. The chips are also doing really well, i pick off any clumpy poops, as in where they have been sleeping, from the surface, this i will prob change completely on a weekly basis because the poo does go down between the chips. So im quite pleased with my little experiment .

Hey, I wasn't meaning a change on the OH-front! But, of course, that is entirely up to you ......... The sand does look nice. And seed husks are clean really, just normally messy, but I imagine that isn't a problem with them mixed with the sand? How do the birdies find the sand to walk on? They might have had tired leg muscles the first few days.

Ohhhhh i seeeeee They love it, often mooching about on it, i watch them from the window, id love to get some pics but at soon as i open the door, up they go, so a pic is difficult . Their little leg muscles are coming on a treat , it gives them something else to do .

Ha, ha I can see it now ........ budgies with bulging calf muscles!!!!! It would be really good exercise for their feet and legs, though, seriously.
