Bert and Ernie have been put all morning and just now they were flying over to one parrot the room where my desk is. As they did the phone rang and startled them. Bert flew into the wall and then flew away and was disorientated and hit something else and landed on the floor. I picked him up but he flew off and has been sitting ontop of the wind chimes with Ernie. He's looked all round and had a little yawn and is just sitting resting now. I am really worried as to whether he is ok. He flew again so his wings are fine. He has looked all round so his neck is fine. I'm hoping he was just a bit disorientated and dizzy and once he has rested will be ok. Any advice very welcome. I feel quite shakey from it all.

He just stretched his wings and feet and had a little chirp.

I hope he is okay, but sounds fine. It is distressing when that happens. I have been freaked out a few times with Millie who has flown into walls etc when she was a little younger. Just clumsy, but I was worried every single time. She is fine, so I think unless obvious wing damage etc they are okay with a little bump like that.

From your description, he sounds okay. Probably just startled at hitting something mid-air.

Ernie has not left his side. He has moved round the top of the chimes (thick wooden ring) but is still just sitting there.

Ok so he just flew round the room twice missing all objects and walls on the way whilst I held my breath. He is back up on the chimes mumbling with Ernie. I an relived but do wish he would go back to the cage.

And they are back in the cage now stuffing their faces. Bert is obviously feeling better as Ernie's tail was waving about above his head and he just reached up to pull it phew.

My step dad asked me if I was going to change Bert and Ernie names today. Ernie to Harvey and Bert to Wallbanger...fathers day present being returned to the shop me thinks.
