No insult intended; Corie is breeding for show. @corie, you seem to have the 'big' sussed; now to work on the feathers.

One step forward two backwards i'm afraid, but if it was easy then it wouldn't be such a great challenge.

Love the cockatoo, @corie. It's great when they visit. They are such lovely creatures. Even the wild ones are pretty tame it seems. I guess they've lived alongside us for so long now they've figured out we're more likely to feed them than eat them.

He's fully grown now Hezz. He comes by twice a week not sure if he's wild or a escaped pet. Wow! Not only have you got the size thing going well, but you have worked magic on a colour-change as well!!! This photo looks like he wants his bread "toasted, if you please?"

One step forward two backwards i'm afraid, but if it was easy then it wouldn't be such a great challenge. I know an American lady breeder who started to breed wild size budgies also, just to prove to herself that the reason was English budgies who failed to breed and not she

Like anything if you want to learn the power is at your finger tips, my knowledge of Budgerigars comes from intense reading over many years. Depends on how much you want to learn cause i'm still learning. I've never sorted the easy way in life and that applies to how my stud of budgies have developed, very slowly. Don't get me wrong i have the money and contacts to buy in birds from some of the top breeders in Aus, why i don't do this sometimes i wonder myself. It boils down to what i set myself to do 30 years ago as a kid and that is to breed champion budgerigars from the ground up. Alot harder than i ever thought.

Corie, if it was easy then everybody would do it. Where would the fun and feeling of achievement be then.

That is dedication for you, @corie, and I am sure one day it will all come to fruition. We will be reading about this fella, Corie, from Umina Beach, and I will be saying I know that bloke, well, sort of! GOOD LUCK!!
