Nicola is Wagga Wagga, Stace is Sydney, but really a Kiwi, Corie is north of Sydney ........ having a mental block and can't think where exactly, Rachel is Mornington Peninsular, I think! Again I may be wrong on location but she is definitely an Aussie. And yes, Nev90 ....... I think Nev got too busy ...... he seemed to have a lot of irons in the fire. Shame; I miss his input.

I'm in the UK, England to be exact. South east England to even more exact, on the coast. You mean there's someone else living in my remote part of the world!! It sure is hot around these 'ere parts - rain due tomorrow.
Lovely "chooks" - we always called ours "chickens" when I was a kid living in London. Had about 200 of them. Rhode Island Reds and Sussex Whites mainly. (if I remember rightly?) My job as a 5 year old was putting the fish heads through the hand mincer ready to mix into meal for the winter time feeds. How I hated it when the eyes stared back and wouldn't go down / through the mincer. Sorry... some memories are perhaps best kept to ones self. What part of the garden of England are you in. I'm on the Romney Marsh, a beautiful part of the country.

That makes a team of about 6 of us down under! Never mind I am the only kiwi(I think..) Sorry to hear about grinding fish heads in a hand mincer, sounds kinda revolting, especially for a 5 years old.

It was't too bad - I expect I asked if I could help. Best job was dipping eggs one at a time in isinglass and then putting them on the tray to dry. After that hours in the garden looking for insects and bugs... the ones the chickens had missed. I loved watching them. Strange, peaceful early childhood. starlingqueen I'm south of the downs about 70 miles west of you about a mile from the beach. We can see Chichester Cathedral's Spire, the roof of Goodwood House and The Richmond Stand at Goodwood race course from our back bedroom window as well as the Southdowns. Not a bad spot.

Thanks Hezz you are a jewel. I've started to follow stace as we share this wonderful country! Where are you from in NZ, Marleen? I've forgotten. I live in Hunua, a little rural township, 20km from Papakura on a lifestyle farm, and absolutely loving it! I still wear my clogs at times (they are hard to hide), but have lived in NZ longer than in the Netherlands so that must count for something. I would not swap NZ for anything in the world!

I think my older brother has a place nearish to you, in Drury. My younger brother lives on a lifestyle-type property in Ohakune. He likes the snow.
