Lawries has 2 practices. One in Falkirk and the other is in Cumbernauld. Mr Lawrie is an avian specialist and so are several of his staff, but not all of them. As I have learned, you have to request one with bird experience otherwise you just get anyone. I have used both practices over the last 4 years. I didn't know about the Vet school so that is definitely worthwhile taking note of. It would only take an hour or so for me to get there.
I have spoken again to the vet and my budgie Peanut has now stopped the head twitching and they have taken him off the diazepam he was getting. However, he has since been sat on the floor of the little unit he is in, and is clenching his feet which are going into spasms. He will not perch and will still not eat or drink of his own accord. They say he is being far too calm and quiet for their liking and are so far not pleased with his progress. He has been like this since lunchtime and shown no change. I have to ring again in the morning.
Thanks for all the well wishes. I am keeping everything crossed the little sweetheart pulls through.

I just can't believe his little life has gone. He was such a happy soul and not even a year old yet. I can't understand why he didn't snap out of his night fright when all the other birds did. And now he's gone. I know a lot of people who don't have birds wont understand how attached you get to these little ones. It's just so hard as you will all know. Thank you for all the kind words.
