In an effort to help the first time posters of images I have created an account for myself on Photobucket so I can see for myself what you may be up against. I see that when deciding how to share your images the choice is not very helpful. Note: I am not using Microsoft Operating system or Internet Explorer web browser. This should not make a difference except the wording may differ. When creating a New Thread or replying to a post and wish to insert a picture then do not use the Post 'Quick Reply' Use the 'Reply' button instead When you select 'Share' on photobucket I found the easiest to use was Copy/select the text to your clipboard. Then after selecting the icon that looks like a picture in the space where it says http: Note: you may want to delete the http:// Paste the address from your clipboard Type something in the space where it says Alt. Text: (it Seems to be a requirement that something is typed in there). Simply type img. If all has gone to plan after you press the insert image your picture should appear in your post. If it does not then select (at the bottom left of the post) BBCode this will show you the instructions to the web browser for displaying your picture. Look carefully and make sure it doesn't say some thing like It should say something like If the text is wrong all you need do is correct it so that it resembles the correct address. Remove any extra that may have been added but make sure that there is a '[' square bracket at the beginning and a ']' at the end. Only one of each at the beginning and end of the instruction.I do not have an account with any of the other file sharing hosts, so this one is for Photobucket, but with slight modification to which address is selected from the website offering the service it should not be too difficult to produce the pictures. Note: The names of persons have been hidden to protect the innocent. Please Read This Excellent How ToI hope this is of help to someone.

I use the bottom box which says IMG code I just click on with the mouse to COPY then go to the reply box which can be either quick or usual and PASTE but I have never tried it on my ipad so maybe your method will work on that system

Rather than confuse the confused any further I used the procedure that I have outlined. I suggested using the full reply so that if the image does not appear on the preview of the post the poster can see what the problem is. I have corrected a couple so that the image was displayed and in both cases it was the code that was wrong as supplied from the web page. The method certainly works on the Linux operating system so should work on most anything else. Hopefully. The method is still a cut & paste like yours.

Good one OP! This is fab Unfortunately when I did my original post it was on the old forum so a couple of details have changed as you used to have: TinypicPhotobucketImageshacklisted automatically for you. But have listed them above anyone needs to use an image programme other than Flickr. Thanks again

I am sure what you said made sense to someone, OP but not this old dog. But as I has stuck with what works for me, I will continue with it. If I start changing now I will really will be up the creek. I bow to your greater IT wisdom. Thank you.

Ooooooh!, it wasn't meant for people to change what works for them. It was meant for those who haven't been able to accomplish the task. We have a saying that there is more way than one to skin a cat, and there are more ways to display pictures on the forum. If what one does works then it is right.

No, no, that wasn't quite what I meant, and yes there is more than one way to skin a cat. It is like trying to teach children maths - some will get it first time shown, but others may need a more practical approach for things to click with them. The ideal teacher is one who can approach the same question in a variety of ways until the whole class has mastered the problem. You've done well.
