Are you hoping the budgies will breed in that little box? ?

Are you hoping the budgies will breed in that little box? ? I think that's for the finches Hezz. I was wondering if finches chew things like female budgies. They would have a hole in that in no time and with poop in there it may get damp and the bottom will fall out.

Oh! I see. Not a good nest for either bird, regardless, I wouldn't have thought.

Some finches love to roost inside. Like Lovebirds.

Try and get something like this. What a lovely looking over-night roosting "box". Is it designed for finches or budgies or both?

I rather thought it wouldn't be but quite fancied the idea of my lot all cosied-up together snoozing the night away.

If I put that in my aviary there would be a riot. My lot can't share a 5ft branch without arguing.

Learner you could try it with your budgies and see. you never know they might like it or them might not you never know until you try it. You put that in a aviary of budgies and there would be plenty of blood spilled. I wouldn't use anything that slightly ressembled a nest-box - there would be feather's flying minus birds. But it does look cosy. I have been pleasantly surprised that my lot have settled into their new home without dispute. There was a little bit of low level warning chatter on the first night as they jostled for places on the highest 90cm long perch. Someone wouldn't budge up and there was lots of complaining. I solved the problem by adding another two perches the following morning at about the same height and at the same end. When I add a nest box it will be when I have put a pair together in a breeding cage not in the aviary... and not until next year in the spring. Zebras might find it cosy but even then you'd have to watch them for a few nights.
