As the title says, this one is for Moogie. After scaring the pants off Moogs earlier on with this photo, taken from my bathroom window ..... I thought she might appreciate the view as it is at the mo .......... The orange/yellow flower is on the tree, a yellow saraca; the red is a vine called "Flame of the forest", growing all over the tree. Makes for a lovely sight. Here is a closer shot of the flame of the forest: Unfortunately the brilliance of the red flowers doesn't quite show up, regardless of the angle the photos are taken from. Believe me, the vine/flowers are well named.

I hope Moogie is not having to lie down in a darkened room after seeing that pic, Hezz!
Aside from the phobic angle, I LOVED seeing these pics, Hezz! The vegetation is so amazing.
It has made me think about starting a 'What can you see from your window (and what does it mean to you)?' thread... Any views (!) on this idea from others?

marleen4, they do look like little red budgie beaks! I hadn't thought of that. birdguhl, start one and see what happens. BudgiesBuddy, so true. I am happy to say my little sunbirds love a bit of both. So not just a pretty face but useful as well.

I am Moogie must have hit a busy period again, or the pair of you could have a lie down together - mop each other's brows.

They are huge when they get going, but I don't know how they would go in a pot - or whether you would get flowers from them in a pot. Just doing a little net-surfing and found mention of it on a couple of forums but thought this statement might be of interest to you: Quote: I'm trying a species that's supposed to be cold hardy in SoCal called Mucuna cyclocarpa.

Mmmmm think i may have to abort the mission , ive a few Mediterranean plants in the garden which i have to fleece in the winter, my bananas i have to bring into the greenhouse. I have tried Frangipani, which i love in the conservatory but it struggled. My only hope with this one is possible seed, we have a couple of tropical seed company's which ive brought from before and i will have a look in Kew Gardens and RHS Wisley shops for seed next time i go, my last trip to wisley i brought a Hawaiian Palm home, its doing rather well in the conservatory if not a little slow. Thanks hezz, i love trying tropical plant species . Sorry didn't mean to hijack Moogies thread .

Eeeek! Think if i look at that spider pic again ill also be passed out on the floor with Moogie! Also have a fear of spiders and a very rational one which is quite an unbelieveable story but thatss for another day Much prefer pics 2 & 3, lovely shots, even though the 1st one is a fabulous nature shot, its too menacing for me to look at ...goosebumps!
