21/09/2013 : 06:00 The new beginning. Taking the advice of Skysmum I am starting to train Oldpecker from scratch, so this is like Day One. Now because I already know this guy I will have to play along that I have only just come into his life. A load of BS but I will play along. He removed the cover from the cage. I suppose it keeps me from getting cold and getting the heebie geebies whenever there is a light or noise that I don't know about. He is all tucked up in his bed so wouldn't know if I took fright and panicked. Anyway, after the cover came off Geesh it was a bit dark and he only had this pokey little light on, boy was I glad when he had the courtesy to put the main room lights on. So for day one he sure is pally, he keeps talking as he walks past. At least he has freshened my water for me. I guess I'll have some breakfast while sups his pot of coffee, cause so far nothings changed. Hang on, I'm usually hanging on to my perch 'cause he's moving the cage about. Not this morning though.
06:30 Hey up what's he up to. Well what do you know, he supped his coffee and buggered off, he even turned the lights out and left that pokey little desk light on. I'm glad it's getting light outside.
07:45 Ah! He's been out shopping, I can here all the commotion in the other room. He'd better have brought me some goodies. He's back with his bacon buttie, but nowt for me. What gives here.
09:15 Well that's it then he's sat in front of that computer and just ignoring me. I'll just have some more seed and keep quiet, it won't be long before he's up chatting to me.
To be continued .....

Well that's the morning gone. I'm sure glad you guys and gals are listening 'cause the slave sure isn't. He's only spoke three times on his way past the cage. I think he must have taken the hump or something. All I've seen is the back of his head most of the time. Never mind I have been sat here preening myself, looking at that dork in the mirror. He just sits there looking at me. Hey! slave what's a guy supposed to do round here? Maybe if I keep pooping on the cage bottom I'll see some action. Ah well back to sleep.

Hi Joey, How outrageous that your slave isn't giving you constant attention! Does he have some music or the radio on for you? We (Luee, Berry, Woody and Charlie) all love noise - ideally the sound of wild budgies recorded in Oz + Radio 2 + the hoover. Then we all join in fully. Sometimes we get the impression that our owner slave would prefer a bit of peace and quiet, but she's just a human. Looking forward to hearing more!

I can only chirp for myself, but I am now used to Magic FM in the day. I do go out, when SHE is home and cannot bear Coronation St, but I am made to watch it. I do enjoy the odd time when I bite her too, although she does say things in a cross tone.
Joey, just try shrieking at your slave or even a soft whimper, that works here

They have a lot to learn to keep up with us eh! I've had a bit of a boring afternoon sitting nodding off, cleaning my feathers. I know he's been watching because every-time he moved so did I. I got him though, just as his head was dropping I had a mad flap about the cage, scared the pants off him I did. There's feathers all over the place now. Weeee, I enjoyed that. Hey up he's coming over I'd better get to the other side of the perch and quiver my wings. It makes him think I'm nervous. They are so easy to predict those with their forward facing eyes, big mouth full of teeth. He, He it is fun being a budgie.

Well done Joey on giving him a fright! And making a mess. Now he will have to get up and Hoover. Once it's all tidy, I would do it again. Such good fun.
Now I need to go back yo scratching. I get sympathy that way

Well what do you know, just because it's getting dark and I fell sleep he's gone and put the cover over the cage. Well there was nothing happening anyway. Night, night folks see you all tomorrow nice an early, it will be if he has his way, I'll train him.
