Thank you! If I could only find her parents, they'd be proud.

Here's a little phone video showing the new cage now filling up with toys and branches. I think she's taking to it like a bird to a cage.

So glad Goldie lucked in to a good home. The cage is great. She's full of beans, isn't she.
Just some advice, and speaking from my own bad experience. Rope and fabric fibres can cause problems by forming impaction balls in the gut if she starts eating it. Some people use rope and never have a problem, but my bird nearly died from eating rope and still has residual recurrent problems from time to time.
It's generally the more adventurous and inquisitive birds who get into trouble.
Natural untreated sisal perches seem to be okay.
Not a lot of people know this so there's scant info on it. The impaction often develops over time little by little rotting away in the gut and blocking digestion, the bird becomes ill and, without expensive specialist avian vet care and x-rays to identify the cause, no one usually figures out why.

By the way, whereabouts in Manhattan are you? My whereabout in Manhattan is Upper Manhattan, stace, about a mile away from the George Washington Bridge.

Does she have access to a seed stick or bell? If so, I suggest it be a treat only, not a permanent fixture. They are quite high in honey/sugar which the birds shouldn't have. Birds can become diabetic. Just a thought. I do agree, she is lovely.

Thanks for confirming that. Treat-only is fine. Luckily, this particular one is so packed, she can hardly dig into it. Mostly she eats well, and I'm pleased that she has a taste for a little romaine lettuce.

Heh heh. Goldie wants out. You're absolutely correct. Today's the day the front door stays open. I'm using her old cage as a window perch. I'll see if I can get some happy frolicking on the wing.
