Goldie has drunk from a china saucer a number of times (with or without greens floating in the water). With the purchase of this "bath tub", her jumping in was a first. I did try other things, but certainly no pie tins. Perhaps the shape is inviting to the average Budgerigar. I haven't seen her play with the same toy each day, either, though some are sure-fire -- like the reflective material meant for the window. She messes with that as if preparing for a heavyweight fight. She even makes that little squirrel/chipmunk sound, so you know it's business. Regarding the bath, I couldn't have been happier that she had even one day's worth in her! By the way, Northern Manhattan is practically urban country. Nice air.

I have tried ignoring it, but my neck and ears are too tender. It's just not how he is 70% of the time, when he just snuggles on my finger. I have been following tips Hezz gave me. I hope he does learn as I dread where he lands at times Re feeding in your hand, try turning your hand over and have a bit if millet between your fingers so she is more on a finger than your palm. Good advice! My thanks.

I was pleased it wasn't just another case of pecking at the greens in the water. She did the plunge, as said. Now if I could just build that lest step of trust in the hand (as a perch), I'll be all set. Thanks kindly.
