What about the silvery coated Teflon? I have a deep frying pan coated with it which I use quite often in the kitchen. There is an extractor fan over the hob and a door between the kitchen and the living room where Joey is. I never leave that door open just incase he decides to fly into the kitchen. I also use a Fat Reducing Grilling machine quite often. That is not under the extractor fan, but of course it is in the kitchen.

An anyone tell me if storage heaters have Teflon in them? That was initially why I joined this forum as Misty was staying with me in a flat up the road when he got sick (3 weeks later he died but he was just weeks away from turning 15) & I was worried that the heaters had affected him. I'm fairly sure it wasn't anything to do with them, especially as none of his symptoms fitted with Teflon poisoning but Brodie & I are hoping to move there next month & I'm a bit scared re the heaters.

I read up about it a lot at the time & it's also worth mentioning self-cleaning ovens are a BIG no no re budgies. I'm not sure what contains Teflon apart from pans & slow cookers, I know ironing boards often do & I think it will be hard to avoid Teflon around birds but as long as they're in a separate room I think they'll be ok? Oh & hair straighteners, it's everywhere!
