Hello all. Some of you may know that Thomas was recently diagnosed with an enlarged/fatty liver ( budgerigarsforum.proboards.com/thread/7467/ray). For some time now he has been very lethargic. When he came out of his cage, he'd fly to the Manor & would be worn out with the effort & spend the rest of the time just sat there. However, here he is today: In fact, he was like this yesterday too. Lots of flying. Whilst poorly, Cagney has occasionally attempted a gentle flirt with Thomas but was getting no, or little response. In just the last two days though, Thomas has been responding! He is almost like his old self, but you can see at the end of the video he is out of breath with the extra activity. I could say that I hope he is 'fighting fit' in no time, but knowing the history of my boys, that will actually mean 'fighting'!

Thanks everyone. He's also a lot more vocal. I had forgotten how much he had to say for himself. I do hope he keeps this up, even though I nearly had to break up a fight between him & Phineas...

Such good news, Sweetpea. That does seem to be a rather rapid turn of events, well done both of you! Do you think it is the new medicine you have him on? Keep up the good work you two.

Hezz, I think it must be the medicine. He's been on the milk thistle for around 2 weeks & the L-Carnitine was introduced a little less that a week ago. His poops are less wet but still have the yellowy tinge. I continue to monitor them.
