and yes, if it's cold they get a hot water bottle. I also cover up 2/3rds of the vents with paper. It can get chilly out..

Remember my Missy Marianne Marlow, she didn't come out of the cage to fly around for months. When she eventually did she just climbed out and sat on an outside perch and that was only a couple of weeks ago. She has very slowly flown short flights since after having watched the others and although she is not good at it yet, her wings seem to get stronger every week. Perhaps it will just take a bit of time for JoJo to adjust.

Thanks Shirls that gives me some hope. How old is Missy? JoJo is between 6 and 7 years old.

Missy is only about 2 yrs Marianne Marlow, but if you think of the conditions that JoJo came from and how long she was there, where she is now is budgie heaven. Missy came from a big aviary so the change was quite drastic to my small cage and a couple of birds (the cage is really huge but obviously not like an aviary!) We are all different and some take more time to re-adjust. Missy used to flap her wings, but just wouldn't come out. I am sure JoJo will adjust in time.
