Hello. The three exhibation budgies that i have got some 3 weeks ago are not having much activity. They just eat and sit very quite all day. The cock does not sing at all.
expert advices are appreciated.

They probably are trying not to be noticed. It's still rather new to them so being quiet is a very bird like idea to avoid being eaten. I don't think I would worry just yet. (I'm no expert though)

From what I have read exhibition budgies are usually more docile and quiet than pet budgies.

I have one exhibition budgie and she is totally different to the others, very reserved, she just likes to sit looking beautiful and when i approach she puffs herself up and stands to attention to pose, ive had her for a year now and she is finding her voice. I personally find it rather sad that they dont play and act like the other's. She is better than she was but still very different.

Have you see the videos of Roswell? He seems to play quite a bit. You can see him in the thread Biff Club. He has a ginormous head and a large chest, simply beautiful and fun to watch. He may be the exception to the rule, lol.

I would agree re disposition of exhibition types. My Luee has been bred more intensively than the others and all though chunters away and has a lovely time with Berry he is more reserved and less active the others. It is like he is the grown-up in the flock watching the kids mess around.

Corie who breeds these buds confirmed this in another post for me. On the plus side they are very easy to handle and much calmer than ordinary buds, not half as entertaining though bless them, very...well.....stiff upper lip shall we say . I think if they spend long enough with ordinary buds they do start to take on their ways, Inca is coming on and i think its the same with Roswell and Luee.
