Love this one, more, though. Sometimes, I am also fooled by her innocent looks

As both Dilly and Lovie are flying, we go through a lot to put and keep them in separate rooms. In spite of all these efforts, Dilly somehow sneaked in to Lovie's room and landed on his cage. Despite shouting, running and trying to grab Dilly from cage top, it took Lovie a split second to grab Dilly's foot in his beak. Thankfully, there was a cage bar in-between which bore most of the beak power, otherwise Dilly could have lost a toe. I haven't heard a budgie scream so loudly

That must have given you both such a fright.

Oh poor dilly. Well that answers and questions of whether they will one day be able to be together.

Oh no! Poor wee Dilly Girl! I do hope she is alright? How will you treat this, will you let it get on with it and heal or put something on to sooth it for her BudgiesBuddy?

I do hope the foot is alright after treatment. Will she have learnt something from the experience?

Birds doing what is natural for both of them. Luckily it didn't end more badly than it did, due to diligence on the part of the humans concerned. Well done BB and co for stopping this from being worse than it could have been.

That is my biggest fear. Having 4 different birds in one room is hard work. We have to be so careful that they don't land on each others cage. I have a board on the top of the hahns macaw as I know if any other bird lands on his cage he will have their toes off. I have covers on them too as I don't trust them not to land on the side of the cage. The African grey has a solid top and the conure has a thick cloth on top. I never have more than one out at a time, my nerves couldn't handle it.
I hope Dilly is OK and as Hezz said it's natural for them to do it, it's Lovies cage and Dilly was invading it.

It's bruise, like we get when some transparent skin is removed from near the blood vessels near skin surface, allowing a small amount of blood to leak out. Stopping the blood, cleaning the area and stopping the bird from pecking at it, will do.

I do hope the foot is alright after treatment. Will she have learnt something from the experience? It should be fine in two days. I don't think she would learn anything from it, as she is still a baby. Also birds learn such things from parents, which she experienced on first day only.
