Poor sweetheart! Bad Lovie! To the naughty cage with you! Lovie was baffled to see us shouting so loud. He had no clue.

Birds doing what is natural for both of them. Luckily it didn't end more badly than it did, due to diligence on the part of the humans concerned. Well done BB and co for stopping this from being worse than it could have been. That is so right Hezz. Dilly being baby and looking to play. And Lovie defending his territory, and that is what Lovebirds are known for.

Oh no, poor Dilly. Thank goodness it wasn't worse. Hope her foot heals quickly. Thanks.

That is my biggest fear. Having 4 different birds in one room is hard work. We have to be so careful that they don't land on each others cage. I have a board on the top of the hahns macaw as I know if any other bird lands on his cage he will have their toes off. I have covers on them too as I don't trust them not to land on the side of the cage. The African grey has a solid top and the conure has a thick cloth on top. I never have more than one out at a time, my nerves couldn't handle it. I hope Dilly is OK and as Hezz said it's natural for them to do it, it's Lovies cage and Dilly was invading it. That's right, it's my nightmare as well all the time. Most part of Lovie's cage is covered with thin plastic sheet and so is Dilly's. But it was being cleaned at that time.

Dilly is just a hen, nothing more. Angry, touchy, fussy, grouchy, grumpy, ill-tempered, crabbed.

She looks just playful there, playing with the beak that is. It's hard to visualize that little ball of flesh with splayed out legs and head wobbling all over. She is beautiful.

Hard to believe you had a finger left after that, BB! I can't help but feel you were deliberately antagonising her, though

By the way, I think you mean "crabby", unless that's a typo. I hope you don't mind me correcting your English. (Which is truly excellent now.) I mean it in a helpful way, not in a picky way. When I'm learning a second language, I find it helps me. Otherwise I keep on making the same mistakes.

Dilly is just a hen, nothing more. Angry, touchy, fussy, grouchy, grumpy, ill-tempered, crabbed. You really are getting cheeky!!! Careful, now! Lucky for you we can't really say "I know where you live!" Is Dilly getting any less bitey, though, BB? I was very surprised at how quickly Mango gave up the nippiness. Misty doesn't bite at all, but we all know she is a little addled, so after Smudge, I had prepared myself for months of biting, but she is actually very gentle ........ more than makes up for it in dolphin-clicks though ..... she is very vocal in her protests.
