Hard to believe you had a finger left after that, BB! I can't help but feel you were deliberately antagonising her, though She loves to be scratched on the cheeks, but she wasn't in mood this time around and didn't even allow to be touched there.

Dilly is just a hen, nothing more. Angry, touchy, fussy, grouchy, grumpy, ill-tempered, crabbed. This hen behaviour. It's all for your own good, BB. By the way, I think you mean "crabby", unless that's a typo. I hope you don't mind me correcting your English. (Which is truly excellent now.) I mean it in a helpful way, not in a picky way. When I'm learning a second language, I find it helps me. Otherwise I keep on making the same mistakes. I love the corrections It would be even better if it was mentioned whether the corrections are informal or formal

Dilly is just a hen, nothing more. Angry, touchy, fussy, grouchy, grumpy, ill-tempered, crabbed. You really are getting cheeky!!! Careful, now! Lucky for you we can't really say "I know where you live!" Is Dilly getting any less bitey, though, BB? I was very surprised at how quickly Mango gave up the nippiness. Misty doesn't bite at all, but we all know she is a little addled, so after Smudge, I had prepared myself for months of biting, but she is actually very gentle ........ more than makes up for it in dolphin-clicks though ..... she is very vocal in her protests. After seeing these growly faces, I thought for a minute that I had written female. Thank goodness it is hen It's not the biting, it's the severeness of her mood swings which I haven't seen before. Sometimes times it feels that she doesn't even recognize me. For example, when she gets hungry and wants to go back to cage for eating. Or when perched for sleeping. If someone approaches the cage at that time, she makes angry noises. Putting the hand inside the cage at that time is asking for trouble. Sometimes when she is touched accidentally on the back or feet. Sometimes when she calls us to her room, she whistles. And I mean real whistle, not a budgie sound.

Awww Dilly Dilly Dilly - is Mommy teasing you? I gotta admit, I used to play like that with Mont - used to spin my index finger round and round for her to catch! But I have to admit, not as vigorous as you BB!

Crabbed is not a word that is in general English use. It looks like an almost archaic form of the word. I would understand this word if I heard it, but I would never use it, nor have I ever heard it said. Crabby is the more common word. "She is in a crabby mood this morning. I would give her a wide berth."

Mango is the mistress of the angry noise, so I understand what you are saying. Sounds like Dilly and Mango would have a lot to talk about if they could ever get together.

I've seen it all now. Dilly is the most pampered budgie in the world. She looks completely blissful.

That really is something else. She looks in a trance at times, yet is thoroughly enjoying the whole experience. That's why you are Budgies Buddy.
