That is wonderful BB. Is that the moment when parent bonding takes place? Or doesn't that happen with budgies? The transformation is spectacular.

My name is Dilly. I am officially a Girl. I am a Normal Green budgie, just like my wild cousins. I am 7 days old, and I have just fully opened my eyes. Hello World! This is WONDERFUL! You are her mum now

Yep! The first thing she has ever seen! Mummy!!!! Feed me!!! Please? Fancy! Firstly Lovie we have watched from babyhood to almost adult, and now we get to see Dilly do the same. I am going to be a mess by the end of this!!! BB, do you think she is over the worst now? Pretty much guaranteed to make it through the rest of her development without health issues? I know those first few days are the critical time, but when do you start to breathe freely?

The development rate really is astounding. Those downy pinnies have opened up like blossoming flowers already. And you can see real feathers on her wings now, amazing growth rate.

Oh dearest Dilly, you are the cutest little thing and growing so nicely, love the little feathers just peeking through. I am loving her feisty nature and how she knows her own mind, even at such a young age. She is going to be one amazing little hen! Your dedication is second to none, I applaud you for all the work effort and love you put into these little creatures. Lovie and Dilly have been two of my favourite threads to follow.

That is wonderful BB. Is that the moment when parent bonding takes place? Or doesn't that happen with budgies? The transformation is spectacular. The bonding starts to take place from the age of 5 to 6 days when they start to open the eyes gradually, but it really kicks off from 7 days onwards. She knows me now.

I know those first few days are the critical time, but when do you start to breathe freely? Feed is all what matters to her right now Lovie was around two weeks old when I brought him in, so he was a little shy in the beginning. Trying to make him eat was a little difficult too. He panicked also when I tried to pick him up from the brooder. It's totally different with Dilly. She had no options with closed eyes I don't know about you but I have lost some weight already The worst is almost over now. I always say that when they fully open their eyes, it gets something very series to close them again. (Some wise words, eh )

Today morning, she pecked with force and tried to bite my hand when I accidentally spilled a single hot drop of feed on her back. And that anger continues during the day. This is Dilly for you I couldn't grab that one but you can see in this video that she is trying to turn her head and reach my hand, with just one goal in mind
