It's amazing, BB, to see them born like this. Just amazing.

I am always amazed by it too stace. When we went to get Barney & Wiggy, our breeder let me have a look at some newly hatched chicks and let me touch them too! He is a good breeder, great aviary and I know if I need him for anything he is contactable almost immediately

BB, do you take out the old egg shells, or has mum found a use for these as well?

BB, do you take out the old egg shells, or has mum found a use for these as well? No use of the egg shells. I removed it with untidy hens. Hens like her take care of it by themselves

Am sorry t hear of the one you lost BB - I imagine despite being an experienced breeder losing a chick is still very hard thing to deal with? However I am still amazed at how something so small and fragile can survive Glad your others are doing well, look forward to more progress updates! P.S Their crops looking nice a full

Six days old Opaline Blue. Now I just know you are showing off! But I am not going to ask how ........ The under-developed chick must happen a bit, BB?? I know it does with other species. Can't imagine budgies are any different ....... Back to the eggshell question, how does a tidy hen "take care of it", besides kick it off to one side? Sorry for the questions.
